  • Not sure if we’d be a good fit? Reach out and ask. I’ve edited everything imaginable, and if I can’t help, I can usually point you in the direction of someone who can.

Please note: I am committed to providing a safe, respectful space for all of my authors. I will not accept projects promoting hate of any kind.

You finished writing your story! You worked hard on it. You wrote and re-wrote until you couldn’t see straight anymore. You did your research. You sought out feedback from early readers and used what made sense. You self-edited and polished…and polished…and polished some more. You’re feeling pretty confident in it, but you know there might still be some lingering issues, and maybe you’re a little shaky on comma usage at this point after over-caffeinating for months on end. The feedback you received from early readers was valuable, but you’re ready for more professional, objective eyes on your work. You took your manuscript as far as you could on your own.

It’s time to get your story edited and ready for the world.

Reach out, and we’ll start with a conversation. Tell me about your project, including genre, word count, your goals (indie or traditional publishing?), and any deadlines or special requirements. Once we’ve connected, I’ll arrange a free sample edit so we can see if we’re the right fit for each other. Editing is a collaborative process and it does take time to do it right. We’ll get to know and trust each other. Don’t worry, I understand how much you’ve put into your creative projects and I intend to treat them with as much care as you have.

I’ll review up to 1,000 words of your manuscript for free. This helps us both:

  • Identify the editing services you actually need (copy, content, both, or something else)
  • Clarify the differences between the various types of editing
  • See if my editing style aligns with your writing needs
  • Understand your strengths and growth areas
  • Get a custom quote and an estimated timeline for your full edit based on the needs of your MS and my scheduling availability

We’ll agree on a schedule, estimate, and expectations, then dive in. Depending on what you need, I’ll provide:

  • Copy Editing to polish grammar, clarity, flow, and mechanics
  • Content Editing to strengthen storytelling, structure, and voice
  • Combined Editing for the best of both worlds
  • Or alternative services as needed

From there, your story’s future is up to you! You may self-publish in print or online. You may start the process of querying agents in order to go traditional. Or maybe your journey will land you somewhere in between as a hybrid author. All roads are open, and with a polished story, you’ll be putting your best foot forward on your own unique path. I’m honoured to guide and support you on your way!

Alice Bienia (Private Detective/Crime Fiction, Mystery, Arthur Ellis Award Finalist, and Author of Jorja Knight Mystery Series): Taija Morgan is an extremely talented and insightful editor. She has an amazing ability to look at the micro and macro details of the story and see how to bring out the best in your writing while staying true to your own style.

I started working with Taija in 2019 and I’m so grateful to have her on my team. Her in-depth editing notes not only explain the reason behind her edits and suggestions, but also point out the story’s strengths. Her observations and suggestions around opening hooks, plot details, pacing and tension, consistency of character action, emotion, and motivation, along with word choices to improve the power, meaning, and tone of each sentence, down to the mechanics of accurate punctuation and grammar, have not only helped to make each of my novels stronger but have made me a better writer.

Taija is a gifted editor. She is professional in her approach, yet caring. I can’t say enough about how amazing she is to work with! Did I mention her sense of humour? And now that word has gotten out, her dance card is filling up. If you get a chance to work with Taija, take it. You’ll soon be praising her talents too!

Dwayne Clayden (Bestselling Author of Brad Coulter Series, Crime Thriller Fiction): I have had a number of editors over the past eight years. Taija is the best by far. She quickly learns your style and keeps the story in your voice. She doesn’t just suggest changes, but explains why the changes are needed and provides references for you to read. Her edits are detailed and she often finds story links I hadn’t thought of or plot lines I had lost. She puts her heart and soul into your novel. I have found my editor for all my novels.

Ludvica Boota (Assistant Executive Director of Crime Writers of Canada, Cold Canadian Crime CWC 40th Anniversary Anthology): Taija is a professional editor whose attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines without sacrificing the quality of the manuscript were remarkable.

Our team had an anthology to publish, which consisted of 21 different authors, all with differing voices, united by one common theme. The deadline was very tight, approximately a month. Taija was tasked with editing each piece, ensuring that every story was on the theme, and provided detailed edits with explanations of any changes. She connected with each author, some of whom were being published for the first time, to develop their voice, tone, and style.

Her passion for her work is evident. I highly recommend Taija and would work with her again.

Julie Hiner (Bestselling Crime Fiction/Horror Author of Detective Mahoney Series and KillersAndDemons.com, finalist in 2022 Kindle Book Awards): Taija Morgan is an amazing editor! Her passion for words seeps through every aspect of her work. The editing services that she provides on my books are professional, detailed, and thorough.

I love that I can completely trust her to find every tiny little thing and to turn my work into a masterpiece. Her work transforms my writing into pure elegance, while allowing my voice to ring through loud and clear. Every comment she makes is explained, and she provides a wealth of examples and references.

My books go through boot camp, and I go along with them. Her insights are eye opening. Both my writing and my understanding of the craft are greatly improved by her comments and feedback.

Taija is more than an editor. She is someone who cares deeply about her clients and their books. She loves the craft of writing. I highly recommend that you consider her for any project. Send her a sample of your work, and I am sure you will be amazed at what comes back.

Also, for those writing dark, Taija has additional expertise. Her understanding of the psychotic mind, rooted in her formal education, boosted the reality of the scenes in my book involving psychotic episodes and serial murder. Her creative side, especially in dark places, was a huge bonus to my story line. Consider her. You won’t regret it. She is my editor for life!

Kelsey Collins (Poetry and Historical Romance, Author of Fermented Musings): When you work with Taija, you not only benefit from her supreme editing skills, you gain an education. An education in writing, an education in business, and an education in marketing. More importantly, she helps you learn more about your own unique voice; if it’s hiding, she helps you find it, if it’s discovered, she helps you hone it.

Her talent is exceptional and she knows how to share it with others. Her communication is concise, her patience is plenty, and her knowledge is profound. I’ve had the honour of working with her in both poetry and prose, and I came away every time with a sharper and keener mind and a stronger and brighter spark. Cannot recommend her enough.

Cecilia Ekbäck (Historian, Author of Wolf Winter and The Midnight Sun): Taija edited my latest book and I was really impressed with her work. Her attention to detail is next to none. She puts an enormous effort into her editing, but also into giving you ideas and food for thought. As she herself is a writer, I found the feedback to be spot on. Working with her made for a much better book.

Jim Jackson (Prairie Soul Press): There needs to be a word that’s bigger than “editing” to encompass everything Taija Morgan does.

From anticipating my needs to coming up with an in-house style guide, Taija knew what I wanted before even I did and delivered it with fantastic client service.

(Oh, and the editing was topnotch, too.)

Erin Celovsky (Editor, Coaching Client): Taija Morgan has been an indispensable help in setting up my editing business. From technical advice to reviewing edits to reference material to business set-up and everything else, she has given me practical guidance and the benefit of her experience. More important than that, she has been patient, kind, and generous with her time. I always feel like she is listening to me and my needs.

Jenna Greene (Bestselling YA Fantasy Fiction, Children’s fiction, and Middle Grade fiction, Author of “Reborn” Series): Taija is one of the finest editors I have ever worked with. She is talented beyond reason! Not only can she improve the pace of my writing, the flow of ideas, and catch mechanical errors, I learn something about writing technique each time I work with her.

She offers a perspective from both an editor’s and reader’s point of view, and is very respectful of an author’s craft.

She works with each author to understand their writing goals, as well as the themes and nuances of their work. She works efficiently, punctually, and accurately, no matter what genre of literature I throw at her.

Not only is she a remarkable editor, she is a talented writer herself and is making strides to improve the writing community as a whole for emerging and established writers. As a board member for Wordbridge: Writers’ Society of Lethbridge, she is opening up avenues for conferences, retreats, and workshops.

She is a dedicated artist herself, who creates unique works. Taija is a talented, professional editor whom I fully trust to bring my stories to the capacity needed to send off into the world. I will never (willingly) work with another editor.

Victoria Marswell (Fiction, Romantic Suspense, Author of “The Counterfeiter’s Daughter”)Working on editing my novel with Taija was a perfect fit from the first sample edits. She made note of small details that were important to character development. The fact she recognized and appreciated the littlest descriptions revealed she would take special care of my story.

I felt safe turning over years of my writing to her and was confident she would treat the story as if she’d written it herself. Her thorough and meticulous work shined through as I read through her comments. Another wonderful aspect of Taija’s services is she works with you. She creates a partnership.

I highly recommend partnering with Taija for any of your editing needs. I’m grateful for the experience I gained utilizing her expertise. I look forward to working with her again!

Luke Moore (Graphic Novelist, Fantasy Fiction Author of “Everafter” Series): Taija has been instrumental in my development as an author. Through her insightful advice and thoughtful guidance, my stories have become something that I can be proud of. I would recommend any writer of any skill level to have their works edited by her.

Josh Miller-Watt (Travelogue, Memoir, Non-Fiction, Author of “What Passes For Winter”)From the very beginning of the project, Taija showed a wonderful sensibility and understanding towards the kind of book I was trying to write, and helped me to not only clarify, but improve my vision.

After we had finished the editing process, she had taken my writing and made it seem like it was even more of itself than before.

She was able to take my words, make them better, and have them still feel like they were totally mine. This kind of skill cannot be underestimated. I almost hesitate to recommend her as I want to keep her services all to myself, but I have to give credit where it’s due. She’s fantastic.

April Sanders (New Writer): T. Morgan is a very skilled and detailed editor with strong grasp on the technical aspects of writing as well as characterization and plot. She’ll catch everything from misplaced commas to the little details that add believability to a story and depth to a character. She’s a great resource for any writer looking for a thorough, professional, and objective eye to improve their story.

Madelaine Shaw-Wong (Historical, Dystopian, Political, and YA Fiction, Author of “Quietus” ): Taija is a brilliant editor. I was pleased with her edit of my novel, both her attention to detail and ability to see the bigger picture. She was able to suggest just what my novel needed to make it the best it could be.

Melissa & Matthew Reed (Epic Fantasy Fiction): The service was an excellent value. The editor was professional, honest, and patient. By providing a fresh perspective, this editor helped me improve and motivated me to keep on writing.

Tabitha Grimshaw (Urban Fantasy and YA Author, “The Bartlett Journals”)A meticulous editor, Ms. Morgan will find something as small as an extra space and something as large as a plot hole.

In her astute analysis, she provides explanations of corrections and suggestions for improvements. Whether you just need to polish your writing or need in-depth guidance, she has the skill set and knowledge base to accommodate you.

Professional, courteous, and encouraging, she is a pleasure to work with.

Karly Dizon (YA Fiction, Literary Agent, “Finding Aurora”)When a friend first told me about T.Morgan Editing Services, I thought it would be a business deal between editor and author. What I didn’t expect was a fantastic friend.

Taija was very constructive and thorough, but most importantly, inspiring. She rekindled my love for my story, which to be honest, had slightly faded with all the rounds of editing and rereading I’d done. You’ll find her to be knowledgeable, experienced, responsive, and kindhearted. You won’t be disappointed with using her services.

Michael Hoskin (Biographer, Bestselling Non-Fiction Author of “The Benefit of Steel: The Life and Times of Dr. Steve Foster”): Hiring Taija Morgan to edit my book The Benefit of Steel was one of the best decisions I made!

Taija is not only thorough and adept at proofing text, she also provided helpful commentary and suggestions, allowing me to maintain my own authorial voice while considering her feedback.

But much more than that, Taija guided me through the process of publishing, from the layouts she designed for the text through to advice on the ebook & print adaptations. Taija also helped set me up with my book launch party at the Owl’s Nest in Calgary AB, which was great fun and led to my book charting at #6 on the Calgary Herald Non-Fiction Bestsellers List!

If you need an editor and guide through the world of self-publishing, I happily recommend Taija Morgan!

Ian B. Jaimeson (Memoir, Non-Fiction, Author of “Bring on the Stuntman” and “Kaskader”): I am fortunate to have had Taija work on my 2nd book. She was precise with why changes were necessary and what should be cut to make it a better read. Taija showed me how to be a better writer. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Rebekah Raymond (Thriller/Suspense Fiction, Bestselling Author of “Life’s Series”): Having Taija edit my books has been an unexpectedly enjoyable experience. She enjoys the process of reading and editing new material, and that excitement translates to her very thorough and accurate edits, suggestions, and questions about the text.

She is also flexible, offering a variety of services and degrees of editing. Her passion is shown through the genuine care she has for her authors as well. She is not only willing to edit, but also to teach through example. I highly recommend T.Morgan Editing.

Pauline Greenidge (Business Non-Fiction, Author of “A Grand Dinner Party”): Taija’s recommendations combined with her thorough and quick editing were invaluable for my manuscript.

She’s professional, responsive, and easy to work with.

Jan Eden (Executive and Corporate Development Coach): I have had the pleasure of working with Taija on many professional fronts. Her stellar writing ability surpasses a level of connection to the client and the client’s story to become inspirationally intoxicating. Her editing skills are beyond the typical correcting of grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. She becomes the receiver of the content that she edits to ensure the messages will be communicated and integrated well. When you meet Taija, learning that she is an author of horror novels will pleasantly surprise you, as her gentle and gracious demeanor never reveals this richer layer of writing ability. The joy and pride I have in knowing Taija is anticipating any opportunity to refer her and introduce her to others who will surely benefit from her unique and abundant talents.

Sandra Hurst (Fiction, YA Fantasy & Romance, Bestselling Author of Skyroad Trilogy “Book 1: Exile”  and “Book 2: Guardian,” and “Peace Out: A Peace Series Novella”): As a first-time author, I knew that getting a professional to review my work would be critical prior to publishing. I sent out 10–12 samples to various editors to see what type of feedback I would get. From these samples I chose Taija Morgan to edit “Y’keta.”

She took the time, even in a free 1,000-word sample, to point out the things she did like about my writing as well as the things that were lacking or needed further development. I have worked with her extensively over the last year and have been impressed by her expertise, work ethic, and most of all her comprehensive understanding of the author/editor relationship.

Taija improves my work in both content and context. She is a valuable asset to me as a writer and worth every penny.

Andrea Reindl (CEO, Legacy Creative, Digital Marketing Specialists): I have worked with Taija for over a decade. She is a wonderful addition to any team. Her attention to detail, quick turn around, and strategic feedback is always helpful. If you are considering working with Taija, I would 10 out of 10 recommend her.

Natalie Reindl (Project Manager, Legacy Creative, Digital Marketing Specialists): Working with Taija has been a fantastic experience. Her editing is consistently thorough, thoughtful, and high quality. As a project manager, she’s my go-to editor; someone I trust completely to elevate the quality of any written content. She doesn’t just correct grammar and typos, she offers insightful feedback that strengthens clarity, consistency, and overall impact. On top of that, she’s a pleasure to work with: communicative, dependable, and always delivers on time. Her attention to detail and collaborative approach make her an invaluable part of our team. Highly recommended!

Kelsy Toker (Project Manager, Legacy Creative, Digital Marketing Specialists):  Since 2016, I’ve worked with Taija on a number of projects that required her skills of proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.

Our whole team was blown away by her work ethic. She was more than thorough with her research so that consistency and accuracy were represented throughout each of our projects.

She was always very considerate of what our clients were trying to express, leaving suggestions on how things might be improved but always leaving the final decision up to the author.

Throughout each of our manuscripts she was sensitive to what the author was trying to communicate but also aware of how the author’s audience might perceive what was being written, leaving suggestions to help remove any confusion or misunderstanding the audience might have. She left great explanations of her thinking and reasoning for proofreading in the manner that she does while staying aware of the author’s preferred writing style.

Knowing the work it takes to write a book, Taija connects with our authors by not only proofreading and editing but by acknowledging the vulnerability it takes to share private stories with the world and expressing her delight whenever she finds something impactful. Going forward, we plan on working with Taija for many years to come. She is a remarkable woman, who is thorough, trustworthy, detailed, and humble. For anyone in need of her skills, any one of us would recommend her in a heartbeat.

Shaun Dubyts (Non-Fiction, Memoir, Author of “Disabled”)When I began my search for an editor I created a checklist I thought would be impossible to complete; it took five minutes. I contacted another author who had worked with Taija and discovered that she had a strong work ethic, which happened to have been the first item on my list.

Taija did an amazing job with the editing of my memoir and helped create a unique structure to fit the story, going above and beyond to teach me tips and secrets of the craft, and giving me a boost of confidence. After working with Taija, I came to understand that what I consider as having a strong work ethic, she considers fun.

Brent Taylor (Non-Fiction, Relationship Self-Help, Author of “Hiz and Herz: Greatest Gift”): Taija is a very gifted, kind, honest, and responsible editor and individual. Her knowledge of editing goes far beyond structure and flow; she gets to the heart and is able to help complement my writing with additional words, phrases, and summaries. She has good insight of what to leave out and what can be added.

Taija suggests and recommends, yet totally understands the persona style and subjective sensitivity of the content. She is a realist and knows that not all readers are going to be interested in a book, but she also helped me by understanding my passion and goals to reach out to a broad and significant demographic. She got to the heart of my book by understanding my heart and putting herself in the book with her heart.

She is a very gifted editor and author who loves writing and cares about people. I would highly recommend her services to any writer—and to those starting out, she is a very helpful and kind person to work with.
